Get a Real Email Account

I'd estimate that at least ten of the emails I send out each day don't make it to their destination. In some cases they bounce back because of a server issue, but more often than not, they end up in a spam folder, or worse yet, deleted. Why? Because any email I send out from pornsitepros.com is going to be seen as spam or inappropriate content in many cases if you're using a free email addy.
Sometimes I get nasty emails from people accusing me of ignoring them and no matter how many times I reply, they don't get my emails and if the only way I have of contacting them is that free email addy, there isn't much I can do about it. Other times, webmasters will post on a message board asking me why I haven't replied to their email. Invariably I'll check and find out that I did reply and it either bounced back or got filtered.
Of course, there is another reason to use a real email account which is just as important if you plan on calling yourself an adult webmaster. Professionalism. Do you think anyone is going to take you seriously if your email addy is john387@aol.com? Of course not, and in the case of TGPs and link lists, they won't even deal with you if you use a free email account.
Okay, so now you're saying this makes sense but you don't' have a website yet and subsequently, no domain to use for your email address. Then register one. You don't have to put up a website to use email at that domain for now. You can register a domain with an email account for $34.99 a year at Domain Direct. Of course, if you're serious about working in this industry, I'd say the smart option would be to register the domain and set up a hosting account. Even if you aren't ready to put a website up yet, you will be soon and you might as well be ready. A basic virtual hosting account at ATCI Hosting is only $9.95 a month.
If you want to be john387@aol.com to your friends and family, that's cool, but if you want to be an adult webmaster, get a real email address.

Hey Hammer what do you think about Gmail?
What's the difference between Gmail and any of the others? It's still a free email service and not tied in with a domain that you own.
